Mary Hobbs
I have been hand crafting cards for almost 15 years, starting with 3D decoupage for a small company in Devon. I then introduced new designs and techniques and branched out on my own. Moving to Newcastle in 2001 I was fortunate to be able to join the Guild of Craftsmen.
My cards are completely hand made using many different materials and techniques which includes ribbons, silk, acetate, wax, fabric, paper (quilling, iris folding and parchment), paper pricking – which is a type of embroidery on card. I grow and press the flowers I use myself. Felt and beads. I also knit tiny items for baby cards and paint lemon and orange pips (they become birds).
